Portrait is A3 to fit standard sized frames.
What is this Portrait?
Once painted, your portrait is meticulously hand embossed - an age old printing technique dating back to the 1400’s. I emboss (or press) precious pieces of European antique lace into beautiful French paper - a truly exquisite marriage of textures.
Archival inks, pencils, pastels, and the highest quality watercolours splash the paper, ensuring it becomes an heirloom to treasure for years to come.
What is the Process
- In the days following your booking you will be sent a welcome email outlining the process and confirming when your portrait cycle will commence. If you would like it for a specific date (a birthday, christening, baby shower etc) that is already booked out, I will try to accommodate you wherepossible. Please note portraits take about 4-6 weeks to complete.
- Two weeks before starting, I will send you a couple of emails guiding you on how to choose the best photo and design choice.
- Two to three weeks later, I send through the initial painting for you to approve. $235 payment is due.
- About two weeks later, I'll send through the completed masterpiece to approve before the final payment of $235 is due. Feel free to request any tweaks, and I'll promptly send you the revised images. .Once you are 100% happy, it's ready to be posted.

There are 2 approval points and unlimited revisions, to ensure you are 100% happy at the end.

Our son Freddie passed away in 2021 at 4.5 months old, and as I navigated grief and the loss community I kept seeing Col’s beautiful portraits pop up. I previously purchased a portrait for my own daughter and bought one for my best friend when she lost her baby in labour. The quality of the portraits are absolutely spectacular and I was particularly impressed with the kindness and sensitivity One Sonny Day takes when creating these portraits for infant loss. The team were so accommodating and fit her portrait in when they had no spots available so I could get this to her quicker. It was such a beautiful gesture.
